The material and the application of your product will determine the type of testing needed. Your product may be tested using the following methods: the BEST Assay™ for coated medical devices, the MBEC Assay®, or MIC/MBC/MFC for aqueous/powder antimicrobial agents. InnovoSIL™ is Innovotech’s signature series of silver periodate antimicrobial compounds. Silver has been increasingly utilized in medical devices; However, silver products currently used on the market have poor solubility or rapid inactivation in bodily fluids. These materials were also designed for planktonic bacteria with limited biocidal activity against biofilms. InnovoSIL™ silver products contain periodate, enabling multiple mechanisms of killing against bacteria in both planktonic and biofilm states, combating the growing bacterial resistance.
